“À rebours”, against the tide. This is the proper expression to describe Altea and its history. It began with accessories but developed throughout the years into complete men and women apparel. Altea was born as a tie factory in the old Milan city centre at the end of the 19th century. The first turning point was in the Seventies when the company launched its scarves and textile accessories. Later came sweaters, shirts, jackets, coats, trousers, and skirts. Collections are designed by someone who has a long experience in accessory production: a great passion for color, customized fabrics, great attention to the details. The standards and the taste of tie manufacturing are employed for knitwear, jackets, and shirts, becoming a distinguishing feature of Altea’s fashion.
