Central Customer Service Ship/Receive Associate Job Description

Boyds Central Customer Service Associates (CSA) provide shipping/receiving, ticketing, will call and merchandising support. Full-Time schedules may include Saturdays and some Sundays during holiday season.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items and reports discrepancies.
  • Prepares items for shipments in appropriate packaging and ensures shipment is complete.
  • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping/receiving records.
  • Maintains shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
  • Transports materials on/off shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
  • Prepare items received including ticketing, sending items for pressing/steaming, putting items on racks for floor distribution, etc.
  • Prepare and retrieve items for customer pick-up and delivery.
  • Make deliveries in the building for products received (office supplies, packages, etc.)
  • Periodically assist with items being shipped for trade shows or events.
  • Assist with merchandising items for floors.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to climb stairs, bend, reach, push and pull
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use shipping software (UPS, FedEx, etc.). Knowledge of international shipping preferred.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as calculators, ticketing guns, or scanners.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Must be able to work Saturdays. Some Sundays may be required during holiday season.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Customer Service experience in a retail environment preferred
