Helmut Lang was established in 1986 by Austrian designer Helmut Lang. With a series of iconic designs and cultural landmarks, the brand became a global force for irreverent thinking and minimalist, utilitarian design. In 2023, Peter Do was appointed Creative Director of Helmut Lang. Under his leadership, the brand’s unwavering, experimental spirit continues to interrogate contemporary assumptions around everyday dress, craftsmanship, and sartorial signifiers. To accomplish this, Do has created a “system of dressing,” a new way of thinking about making and wearing clothes. Helmut Lang’s dynamic utility captures the spirit of New York today.
