Customer Service Associate Job Description

Boyds Customer Service Associates (CSA) provide sales and floor support services to our clients, Sales Associates, and Management. Positions include Floor CSA and Cashiers. Temporary, Part-Time and Full-Time schedules may be available for this role.

Floor CSA Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers in person to provide support and information on products and services
  • Supports Sales Associates during client sales checking inventory, sizes, pulling merchandise and put-backs.
  • Works directly with Floor Manager to determine floor assignments for the day including floor moves, maintaining visual appearance of products, sizing and spacing of products and stocking of items.
  • Serves as floor coverage during busy times or lunches
  • Pick up/Drop off items to tailor shop
  • Light cleaning: dusting of shelves and glass, ensuring carpet is vacuumed, tidying up floor at closing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Cashier Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers upon entering the store or department
  • Accepts money in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validates checks.
  • Assists customers with questions
  • Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.
  • Processes returns and exchanges according to store policy
  • Identifies prices of products and services and ensures accuracy of purchase
  • Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.
  • Bag, box, and wrap purchased items.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to climb stairs, bend, reach, push and pull
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
  • Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Ability to build rapport with customers
  • Must be able to work Wednesday evenings (until 8:00 pm) and Saturdays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Customer Service experience in a retail environment preferred
