Information Technology (IT) Assistant

Boyds Philadelphia is an iconic, luxury fashion destination. Family-owned for four generations, Boyds features Women’s and Men’s designer collections and accessories from the world’s finest brands.

The IT Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Information Technology department; including answering of phones; scheduling meetings for the department manager; sending out notifications to employees and following up to ensure completion of repair requests, maintenance of technology equipment; coordination of IT projects; maintaining office printing supply inventory; coordinating specific installation and implementation projects and office events for all IT staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, place orders for software and equipment
  • Assist Director with preparation of manuals for new and existing business processes
  • Run weekly reports in Goverlan Network management software and network security software
  • Assist with training of new hires and provisioning email registration, user IDs and password, setup Slack and related software.
  • Troubleshoot reported issues on all hardware and software through-out multiple departments
  • Coordinate and schedule the IT team to assist with company events both on and off site
  • Respond to questions/complaints and resolve issues for various hardware and operation systems
  • Manage, review, and resolve helpdesk tickets and maintain the help desk system.
  • Perform general office duties to assist the back office and finance teams

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills including time management/prioritization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience providing quality customer service.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enhanced experience using a variety of computer software applications.
  • Ability to work independently, organize own work and coordinate schedules
  • Experience coordinating large projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands efficiently.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills in technology and the ability to "think outside of the box"

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office experience
  • IT support technician experience of at least 1 year
  • IT support work experience inside of a retail business
  • Network administration experience
  • Network security knowledge of basic firewall and / or anti-virus software

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending
  • Ability to climb a ladder and use stairs
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
